Mini Matters, a miniature painting podcast. >> Welcome back, boys. Christmas has passed. The shitty new year is also over. Um, and it is us, the three amigos, back together again. Um Oh, look. I didn't I didn't shave. No, nothing, mate. Um, yeah. So, how um how have you been? >> Christmas, New Year. >> I think it's it's the saying. >> Yeah. New year, James. Happy New Year. >> And yeah, it's we should we should all like greetings >> properly.
>> So, I real Thanks. I realized um Hold on, I'm stopping. So, it's fucking annoying. It's because of this. It's It's the Juan said to me, "Happy New Year." And it didn't annoy me. Okay? He's the only person in the world that it didn't annoy me this year. And I was like, I did some soulsearching just for some context for everyone. I think h pretending someone happy new year is the most like bullshit benign like self-indulgent shit in the world, right?
Which is why I don't like it cuz it's like >> is it self-indulgent? >> You're saying it to feel better about yourself. You don't care about the other person. You don't. You're like, "All right, I'll I'll >> Well, it depends. You say you say it to someone. I mean, it depends. If if I say it to my to my Uber or driver, then probably I don't give a shit. But if I say to my family or my friends, then I do mean it. >> Yeah, that's But that goes for any that goes for saying like have a good day or take care even, right?
>> It's why I don't say it >> unless I care unless I think it like >> that's not to do with New Year's. That's just politeness in general and like courtesy. You don't enjoy. >> No, because you'd be like you'd be like, "Right, see you later. See you later." That's it. There's no there's no emotion attached to it. It's just like, "Right, cheers, mate." If they're nice, I'll see you later. >> Have a good day. I've never said that in my life. >> Um, but that that's fine. Fair enough. That's just a small >> Yeah. Um, so it's it's because I had it I had a really good way to sum up why I think it's stupid and fucking it's like patronizing. It's not quite patronizing, but you're right. That's what I was saying. When said it to me, I was like, "That's nice. Thanks, Juan." Oh, yeah. No, I've realized why I hate it.
We've been We have spoken about this before, but New Year is bullshit, right? Ironically, I've got something that's life-changing that I'm doing that I happen to work out on the 2nd of of of January. And then I was annoyed at myself cuz I was like, "Fuck, it's January. People are going to think it's a New Year's resolution." Right? So, this concept is why I started hating New Year's and St. Patty's Day and um I still like Christmas. As I said, I do really like Christmas. I think Christmas is fantastic. And I think that you can you can tell people happy Christmas. I think that's all right because it should be happy, right? Cuz it's a set thing.
You're not celebrating, >> right? >> A little bit inconsistent, but the the new year doesn't exist, right? So, there is no new year and then you're like, have a happy new year. Like, what the fuck are you talking about? >> Nothing. Nothing exists. Nothing is a thing. I mean, >> feelings exist, man. >> Yeah, for sure. But like, yeah, it's all a con. It's all a social construct. It doesn't matter. >> Yeah, it's just a checking a checking point. It's just a random checking point. It is.
>> Yeah, really random point. >> It is a deal. >> Piss me off. I'll tell you where it started. I'm not dismissing what you guys said. Also, do you like my rubbish there? Um, right. It's a rubbish video. Um it started off when someone um someone had a bad year and they were like, "Oh, I fucking hope that this year is better than the last year." And it's like, "Fuck off. Just do you know what I mean? You like don't think of last year as bad." Yes, please, Martin. Please. Yes. >> Yeah. Just to your to your point, actually, I've I've always felt uh the same. I thought there was there were a few years in a row where I was getting really annoyed with Facebook updates of exactly that nature. It was like that was a really bad year. Let's hope the next one is going to be much better. And I was like, why? What does it have a reason to? Is there anything in the world that you feel is like just generally moving towards a better place?
It was just weird to me that I was like, "Oh, fuck. This year was terrible in every [laughter] bedroom." >> Exactly. >> But next year that's going to be the shit. Like, okay, fair enough. Um, so I kind of get where you're coming from as like sort of >> packing up last year and saying like, "Fuck that. I'm leaving that behind me." You know, >> that was uh but but I but I wouldn't I wouldn't uh let that stand in the way of me saying happy new year to random people. >> I think you can you can hope for things. I mean >> no, definitely. Yeah.
>> So now you are basking in light right now. You are the Messiah. Can I just say >> I know >> like [laughter] what the fuck? >> I can't believe it got worse. >> It's even It's not even light outside where you are. >> Yeah. >> Imagine it was dark. Then he is Jesus. And he has the beard and the fucking hair. So just putting those things together. You're not Jewish. >> I'm actually actually dead. I mean and heaven >> Christmas. >> Yeah. Uh I I I think it's a random absolute random uh moment of the of the existence, but I think it's fun in a way to to have a checkpoint where where you can just I mean I I don't I don't really care about um happy new year or Christmas or anything, but >> anything of feelings.
>> Yeah. Fucking nothing. [laughter] But but >> tell you why it's stupid. >> I know. Yeah, I know why it's stupid. >> No, no, I can tell you why. Okay. Well, I'll tell you anyway then. Sorry. Thank you. >> Of course. >> So, in the words of And it's not by then, but Rage Against Machine. Um, if not now, when? Okay. So, if you're having a bad year and something catastrophic happened to you and you're like, "Yeah, let me box it into that year." Well, why not do it a month before and start your I'm obviously you don't have a choice and your feelings will happen. But [snorts] having this arbitrary fucking day where you're like, "Okay, great. Now I can start healing." It doesn't make sense. And I'm not saying that's what everyone's doing. Um or anyone, but >> but that's Yeah, but that's that's New Year's resolutions like you were going on about. I I have to agree with that that it doesn't nothing's really actually going to change on January 1st.
I don't think anyone believes that, but >> that's even worse. So, it's like an unnecessarily cynical thing to point out, but yeah, it is true that if if there's something that you're like, I'm going to make big changes in my life for the better. Like, you don't have to wait for January to do that. >> Just do it. >> It's like me with my uh task [clears throat] masters. Did I wait for January? >> Exactly like that. >> I did actually, ironically, but that was not because of January's resolution, New Year's. So, yeah. >> On the edge. Also, there's only one person in the whole world who cares about the rules of Taskmaster. >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, in fairness though, he he did give me the push that I needed. I mean, doesn't I'll just say I wanted to do it the whole time and I couldn't do it in this window. So, I did but but it was on my mind that if I let him down, he'll quit the podcast cuz he already quit once, right? He stopped listening, went Lion, he's like, I'm fed up with >> Taskmasters. Are we doing Task Masters?
>> No, no, no. We've got news to do. Right. So today's episode boys not boys everybody thank you for joining in to the maybe last episode maybe first episode we'll talk about it later maybe um mini podcast news I have some news it's very good news well it's not it's the news is good but the news might not be good like the segment of news is good but the actual news in the news might not be good >> um we of course have um fucking busters But we might not have any new ones. Um especially if it's the end of the season then I shouldn't do new ones. Um we do have uh obviously task masters. So for anybody who doesn't know task masters is a monthly challenge we set between us and I guess listeners viewers uh join in. So so you will be reminiscent to realize that there are six listeners. So that's nine of us in total. Um, so we've actually got an inclusion rate of around 70% of people uh who entered this
month's Taskmaster. This month's Taskmasters was to do a killer and that was it. There's no rules. And the concept of of task masters is to push you out of your comfort zone, force you to do something you would never do. Uh, and a community-based love. It's funny. I've never done these before and I think I've done it three times in this show. And anything else? Do we have any other shit to do on the cast? Not really, right? >> I mean, it used to be. >> Was that news or task masters? >> That was news and then I said task masters and grbers.
>> I I have a new segment, but maybe we will leave it this for the first episode of the next season. Unless maybe it depends. >> Probably we will talk about a lot in task masters this episode, I think. So probably it will eat much of the time. >> Yeah. And we don't have long. This is actually a micro episode because my wife is coming home and that's not like I'm, you know, this was a going I haven't even showered today. I just want to say I was looking after the kids in the morning. I think I just heard them come back. Fuck. Anyway, that means we've got like 50 minutes. Okay. Um, so let us jump into the news.
The news is I've got a job. Not really. I mean, I do I do get a new job, but that's not the news. Um, I went to London. >> Oh, yeah. You did? >> Over Christmas. >> Yeah. You guys went to Warhammer World and everything. >> Yeah. It was very good. It was It was >> It was great. >> It was probably the best Warhammer World trip we've had in in memory, I think. >> I think so. I think >> groundbreaking, actually. >> Wow. Shit. Yeah, I suppose. And we've got the journey. Hold on then. Let's do the jingle for the journey. Sorry, Martin. Uh, where the fuck is the journey?
The journey I real I remember why we put the journey like that. It's cuz it the journey for me was awful and I wasn't painting and I wasn't doing anything. So it was a horror film for my journey. Um now I need to do an uplifting and a happy jingle cuz I'll be honest, Martin, I'm back. All right. I'm I'm I'm not only back, I'm re-energized. Do you know what I mean? I can tell. >> Um I mean it it I say groundbreaking but it was actually like I saw something click in Jamie's head and actually develop in real life. This could be the news there.
>> Well and you would have loved it >> related to news. Yeah, I would. >> Yeah. And that's the problem with not living in England. So I will petition the you three to move to Austria and then we can fly back to London together and go to war in my world and then when we come back we can do >> all the sense in the whole way to do it. Yeah. >> That way you can visit your wife Arnell. It's a great idea. [laughter] >> Yeah. I mean no I couldn't have two in this flat to be fair. I could have Arnell maybe at a bush. Um so something did click right now. It's it's it's it's it's interesting and it's contentious from your side mine. Maybe not you specifically, but just the go the the games workshop way of painting. Right.
So I here's the scene. Okay. >> I thought it was going to be some shit. Yeah. [laughter] Okay. >> Right. Here's the scene. I'm me. Okay. And I'm a painter. Right. And I see heavy metal stuff and it's it's uplifting and joyous and I love it with all my heart. Right. And then I I get older and I get better at painting. You want to get in mine? Do you want to say something? >> No. Okay. No, no, no, no. I was I was just waiting for a butt. >> No, no, not yet. It's I've got You've got the story down the road. Um and and slowly I get painting. I start painting and then I go on Alfonso's course of color theory. No, no, before that I I I try and I'm I'm like technically quite good. I can do tight lines and stuff like that, right? But I have no understanding of painting. Um, and then I go to Alonso's course and over the next two years, I think he just like beats it into me that I've got to be this like free painter like mixture and colors and light source and color theory and and blah blah blah. Now, I will just put a line in there quickly and say that's not to say that heavy
metal aren't doing that stuff cuz they are obviously um cuz otherwise you just have models that look like shit, right? Um, and then yeah, preface gone. And then um and then I got into this rut, right? And I started eating myself emotionally, I think, where I was trying to I was seeing a model and then just going, "Oh, fuck. I can't paint that. It's just too hard." Like I see some stuff like like yours, Martin, that won uh Golden Demon. Like I'm not at that level, so I can't paint it, but I would understand roughly how to do it, right? So I could explore it and try and but that's just a a matter of being a better painter like practice whereas like I mean the model specifically was but I'd always had this feeling the bone giant from Sigma right the new old world stuff so it's not Sigma the old world the big walking bone giant and I was like I couldn't paint that and I was like well why why can't you paint that and I was like I just know that I can't paint like that and he was like why do you want to paint it like that and I was like, well, that's how I paint it cuz I
couldn't see outside the box at all. Right. Um, and that's the only link between GW and not, right, is that I've been prescribed this way to paint and I've never thought to change it. It's just been that's how you paint stuff, right? And it's it's obviously a bit weird cuz I'm seeing all these pieces by just on Instagram just and like I go to Monty and you so you're you're but I'd still never thought to just do that way. I've always been GW's way. Um, and for the last like 5 years, let's say, subconsciously, I've been seeing all these models, not the Monty shit, cuz I didn't want to do the Monty stuff. I wanted to do the GW stuff basically, but I couldn't work out how to do it.
Anyway, we had and that that was the pivotal moment when our now was like, why? And then, uh, the old world boxes have illustrations on them. So, they have illustrations from the artist from TWW and then the box arts, right? >> Yeah. >> And, uh, I was looking and he was like, "Look at that." And then look at that. And then and then I looked at that and I looked at that and I was like, "Oh shit, I could probably do that the artwork more than I could do the GW one, right?" And then it was like fireworks inside me coming out of of everywhere. And I was like, "Holy shit, are you saying you can just paint how you want to paint something and not how GW's done it?" And he was like, "Well, yeah." And I was like, and he was like, "Right." And then and then we went around Warhammer World. And then slowly I started realizing I probably could paint the GW stuff because you can just sort of break it down and paint it. Um, and then I was just like, I'm free. Like now I see models, right? And I don't look at the paint job on the models. I look at the model.
>> Shit. It >> this is some deep philosophical >> Oh, it's it's honestly it's cuz so many models I was looking at and I was like, ah, I couldn't paint it like that. from from going around the Warhammer world and seeing them online and and now I look at the model and I go, "How could I paint that?" And um >> it has set me free. >> You've painted every metal stuff like you painted all the third edition Elar stuff. >> I can paint Elder, don't get me wrong, that I know how to paint. >> But I can't paint anything. >> You should be able to look at everything in the in the cabinet, the Eldar third edition stuff, and say, "I can paint that." Yeah, I guess that's I Yeah, I mean >> I think it was the the key point was seeing the same thing painted in one one way and and the same thing painted in another way side by side because of the illustration on the actual box cover.
Yeah. >> And it was spec specific specifically the skeletons. Yeah, I know. I'm fucking son. I don't know. >> I don't know how to do >> except your except your second coming on now. Except that you are the Messiah. Yeah, whatever. Um, and the fact that they were side by side was very simple to to realize I have these two choices. I can do it like this or I can do it like this. What do I prefer? And then I think he he understood what he wanted. >> Well, I mean, do you think that it's that simpler now given that one of those is in three dimensions and the other isn't? Yeah, it's it's a lot simpler than it seems.
>> So, as you see now, Martin, it was not a slur on every metal style. It was more a passion and love that I had for them that was blocking my viewing of things and understanding that I could paint another way. If you see what like I was >> I think sorry specifically that the the skeletons the fact that they were skeletons and in the artwork they were extremely uh brushstrokey and colorful and in the box art they were simple extremely simple just white or bone uh whatever it's called and I think that that and randomness almost which is not random of Of course, but that anarchy in the in the skeleton in something that it's when you think an a skelelet a skeleton or a bone or something then you think you have to paint it in a bone color and this is your default right and we we all do this like we paint leather brown we paint
bone bone we paint this stuff this color this other this color and we have these rule sets in our mind that doesn't that don't let us paint different And for that was yeah that was the awakening of oh this this skeleton is not painted with bone. It has yellow, it has brown, it has green, it has red and yeah it's more anarchic but works beautifully. It it it is beautiful, right? and and I have I've had this pent up excitement to paint anything right but it's it's it's it's created a weird paradox slightly because I want to paint free but also like so let's quickly jump into taskmasters shit the thing is I want to announce next month's task masters to do it but I want to do it at the end so so I'll just
I'll try and avoid the task masters I've envisioned myself painting a model. Just just leave it. Leave it. [snorts] I've envisioned myself painting a model, right? And I've already gone back to knowing that I want to paint it in an heavy metal style, right? Roughly. >> Um because that's how I want the piece to look. But it doesn't terrify me anymore cuz I'm like it's my it's my way. Fourth time of doing um the four of them of doing a model. like I know what I want to do and I know how and I can envision how I want it to be done and I'm not like it's it's it's a choice.
Whereas before it sort of felt weirdly like not a choice. I had to do it like this. I don't know. And now I'm really excited to paint in that style cuz it's like it's I'm the I'm I'm the one who's who's picking it, right? And and the scene like most of the scenes that I imagine in my head um are basically like Golden Demon vibe stuff, you know? um just just with um yeah, basically like how I I'm they're not going to be like free flowing and arty twatty shit, right? They're going to be like how I'm used to seeing them.
But also on the other flip side, if I want to blah blah blah, I can do the other side. I don't know. All I'm saying is this specific piece is going to be a little bit more not super fuck it. >> I'm happy. But the thought of doing it in a heavy metal star doesn't terrify him anymore, >> whereas before it did a little bit. >> That's an interesting full circle thing about what you were saying about painting it the way you want. So that doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be paint painting more of your metal style. It's just that it's kind of opened your >> Yeah, I think >> like broadened your horizons a bit.
>> I mean, every episode we do a journey, isn't it? I think that um like I won't be going to your level mine of of clean and pristine because I think it will take me too long. I think I'm I I can't get there. But it will definitely be like tighter than maybe what Alfonso was pushing me to do. Like a a nice a nice a nice in between where I'm happy the model looks clean, but it's got nice like interpretations blah blah blas and I'm going to be focusing blah blah blas um with a nice base. Basically that in fact this what I'm saying now is less important except for the fact that I've got choice. And the the the main takeaways when I see a model now it's a canvas rather than a okay I want to try and recreate this thing which also goes back to the whole thing of where I say um and I I might not be an artist but I'm a good copier of things but I'm not a good thinker of things but that might just be because I've been blocked by this concept where
I have to try and recreate what heavy metal done or basically >> that's that's something that I do still, but probably more subconsciously. But I think that's a lot of us are are there just because of what we've been exposed to. I think every warm model I ever see, I'm going to instinctively approach it as an every metal painter. So that that I know that choice is there, but like like you say, you call it a block. It it definitely can be. I think more than a like a guide or a direction, I think it can be more of a block. And I I do see a lot of people with that sort of yeah like kind of instinctive uh limitation that there's only really one way to do it or one way that I know looks good and one way that I can follow some steps and I'll have it look this way and that. So yeah, it's it's definitely good to explore the alternative. If we're diving into that concept, it's interesting because when I painted some of my stuff, like dragon head model stuff, I was
trying to be not obviously I'm not going heavy metal, right? Cuz it's like 75 blah blah blah. [snorts] And uh I would look at other pieces online and I would again I would try and recreate them. Like I had this whole conversation on now with how you did that bone on one of your models and I wanted to use that same bone style on my whatever on one of my dragons and um spent like two to three days and just thought fuck this I can't recreate what he's trying to do rather than I can't remember we spoke about now rather than it's a thing to draw inspiration from be like that's roughly what I look at want to look like and I'm going to try and recreate that but I'll go my own path.
rather than getting all this stressed about I can't recreate this fucking thing that I'm seeing. That's the inspiration. I want to try and recreate that. I'll probably get it wrong almost certainly and I'll just build on it. So somehow learning had gone out the window and I didn't know how to accept that and the killer can. So this task masters was an it was like all the roosters coming home. It really showed me right to not that that I have learned something. I'm still I've still got some trepidation on it. I still not sure if it's solidified.
I need to do some stuff where I'm proud of it. And Killer Cam was like, let's get this out the fucking way. But [snorts] so we can indeed jump into Taskmasters, but I haven't finished my news. So, the reason why I went to London, the main thing I learned from London was um like I might have some sort of semi anxiety when I'm at home on my computer, right? Cuz I bite my nails, okay? Like this was the main like I bite my nails when I'm at my computer or when I'm watching football. Now, I was in London for 14 days and I didn't bite my nails once, right? And I've never had nails in my life except for now. And I keep find so the first thing is nails are good but they are dangerous. Okay. So you if you've never had nails in your life and you go to scratch yourself it fucking hurts cuz you're used to scratching have nails.
Yeah. I guess. >> Yeah. And and it's like I do this I was like oh fuck. So yeah you have to be careful is my my lesson to anybody who doesn't have nails and suddenly gets them. The second thing is you can pinch a lot better if you just pinch the two nails together on someone's skin. You can really fucking nails. >> Yeah. You really dig in, right? And picking your nose. Now, this is where big problems happen. I didn't realize I cut the inside of my nose cuz normally like, and obviously we all pick our noses, right? That's fine. [snorts] We just don't talk about that much. Anyway, I cut my nose and I got a scab and then I was like, is that bogey or not? And then I was Jesus Christ.
That's impressive. And you say it's not sunny outside. >> No, the sun is is is there's no sun. Literally, there's no sun when I outside. >> I believe that when I see it. I mean, your camera is saying definitely the contrary to what you are saying. >> And the thing is when you close your hands when you have nails, they dig into your skin. So, I've never had that before. Anyway, these are the lessons I've learned from having nails. Um, and you really have to be careful when you scratch your head because that's the place for some reason. That's um, and the anxiety thing.
>> I think like somehow I'm so excited to do other stuff. Like I've [snorts] got like five or six things in my head that I want to do when I'm on my computer or or so when I'm on my computer, I really I've got anxiety. I label anxiety because I'm realizing it's it's just like a a feeling that's always around me. And the only way I get rid of it this. >> But I've had it forever. Just I've not labeled it anxiety because it's not some overpowering thing that's like destroying my life. But what it the only way I get past this feeling is by having the tunnel vision of something, having a real goal, a focus, right? So when I've got a project I'm working on at work, if there's a thing I need to fix, I can do it and then like 10 hours will go past.
I don't. So modeling is I'm excited to do that, but when I'm not doing that goal, I'm stressed. I've got this slight feeling that I should be doing that >> to be fair. I always thought you had anxiet anxiety in many things actually. >> No. Yeah. I mean, it's something that for example >> like mate, you need to go doctors. What [laughter] one of the one of the uh things about anxiety is it's hard to waiting if you have anxiety is difficult and someone >> people with anxiety are impatient >> usually. Yes. But the the the fact of waiting what means is that you are in in your own head and you you start to build up and waiting becomes difficult when you have anxiety because you have a lot going on in your head and then you start to to you know build build up and you hate waiting. You are you are the person
that hates waiting the most I've known in my entire life. M >> and I I I cannot think another reason that that than anxiety. >> Yeah. The thing is it doesn't build up in my head. >> I don't mentally think about it. >> It's not interesting. Yeah. >> Anxiety is something that you don't realize. It's something that >> you you may think that you are chill as fuck and suddenly you have an anxiety attack. >> So you you cannot you don't really understand it. >> We need to dig into this more. I need to do some research cuz obviously ADD is what I've always attributed to the not wanting to wait, right? It's like my my my what is it? Neurodiverse.
Jesus. Oh, fucking hon. Um [laughter] >> it's fucking insane. I don't know what to do. >> Pull the blinds down. >> Worst of your [laughter] like just do that. Like it's not hard. [laughter] >> You have to lean that way. Um well, >> made it even worse. You said you've always attributed your impatience to ADD. >> Yeah. And I I think it's still that. Um but I get the logic on what you're saying on now. It's a We're going to have to I'm going to have to dive into it. I'll have I'll have an update next week, but basically the feeling I'm having now is I have so I have like this [snorts] ball of excitement that's in me, right, that when I'm not doing it, I haven't got like imagine an itch, but it's a happy itch. And I've got four itches at once. And I'm like, so I really want to do that and I really want to do this and I really want to do that, but unless it's one of my um like fucking tunnel vision ones, doing them the other ones, I still want to be doing the other ones. So let's say I've got a
painting project and a coding project, but not both of them are just like, okay, if I do one or the other, I still want to do the others. B dos masters, let's go. Fuck fuck this conversation. Um to be fair I understand because when I [clears throat] one of my reasons for for pushing when I work is anxiety and I do tunnel vision as well very much. Uh that's why I cannot go into different projects. I only do one to to be able to just go >> smash it >> uh and smash it. Yeah. So I I don't understand that.
Martin, anything? Did you ever get that? >> I recognize it. I recognize it uh a lot in myself as well, but even more so in other people I know. >> Um but I'm I'm definitely curious about the connection between anxiety and and uh impatience and having a hard time focusing. Um yeah, >> it's like for example, what we were talking the other day or today or yesterday, I don't know, about about um trailers and and teasers and things like this.
>> This is anxiety. >> This is is the anxiety what doesn't let you enjoy that because because you want it you you need it. You >> and and if you if you don't have it, they show teaser to you, you are like Oh, fuck me. I I wanted, you know. >> Yeah. I just get annoyed. It's like, >> yeah, but exactly. It's cuz you you're you want to be excited by something, but they're like holding you at arms length. That excitement can't fully bloom. You can't get excited by it. So, >> becomes a bad feeling. >> It's it's not being able to let let it go.
>> Yeah, I am excited by it. And and and and I can't get that itch scratched effectively >> and that's why it pisses me off. But also the trailer things is actually not about the release and being cited. It's that they give away too much information about the film. >> No, no, I know. I know. I I was meaning the teaser thing. >> The teasers and the >> No one else will know what we're talking about. >> Now you mentioned it. Now you mention it are now I mean I recognize that the anxious part uh and the impatient part from like the Golden Demon stuff that I did last year. Uh, I was really obsessed with uh finishing it and getting it to where I wanted it to to be and all the little minutia and all the little details. That's that felt obsessive. And there was and and although I spent a lot of time on it and I feel like I I could be I I guess someone might think that I'm patient because I spend a lot of time on something. I don't feel like I'm patient. I feel like I'm really impatient. like I'm really eager to finish something and to move on and to do the next thing and that >> um so yeah there is definitely something
to that >> so I feel like we might be mislabeling anxiety just just having done a quick >> fair point that that is a fair point yeah >> um ext so this is anxiety which feels I don't think I have anxiety extreme worries and fear prefers routine body clues like headaches digestive issues heart racing Um yeah, inability, sleep, despair, feelings of being on edge or restlessness, which is what I do semi have. Um feelings of being fearful or powerless. I definitely don't have physical symptoms such as muscle fusion.
So if you have anxiety, it seems quite serious and quite bad. So the last 10 minutes, yeah, levels of anxiety. >> There's the Yeah, there's levels. There's I mean a simple phrase doesn't really >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But for anybody who does have anxiety who is listening, it sounds hard. I've got like micro anxiety then it seems like cuz my my my symptoms are I bite my nails and I have a slight feeling of unrest where I'm like I would rather not like it's like a fucking thing like this that can't get out unless I do the thing, you know?
It's like you want to slap a fish. >> When I when I had Yeah. Yeah. When I had the I had one anxiety well one panic attack or however you they want to call it. I don't know. And I remember thinking that I wanted to run that I I I couldn't I couldn't stay still like I and I'm very chill. I never want to I don't experience these things. And I I felt that I would die if I if I stay still, you know. I needed to literally run or something.
>> But that was a >> Did you run though? Like what happened? I just couldn't stop. I just I just was just moving all the time. >> Yeah. Yeah. That sounds shit as life. >> Uh just a few hours. But uh imagine this a couple of levels slower where you cannot you have to do things, you have to touch things, you have to bite [clears throat] your nails, you have to it's the same but a bit a few levels levels lower. >> Yeah. Yeah. Right. So that was a nailbiting thing.
Yes, taskmasters. Good. 35 minutes in, we got 25 minutes, boys. Right. So task masters as we have alluded to. Um [snorts] it's I mean I love it. It started off as a weekly task. Now it's a monthly task. We did a two-month thing cuz we had a lot of shows and shit on. Right. >> I don't know what we are doing if you don't have a single story, but Oh shit. Good point. Good point. >> Thank you. That's >> I know. I think [laughter] >> wrong. >> Get that fucking job done, mate. Task masters always [laughter] jingle. Thank you. Now slowly the jingles are I need another way to deliver them.
Anyway, um so task masters this task masters was do a killilican. Now we've had more participation in this task masters than we've ever had before I do think. Um, and that's probably cuz we're now at nine. Well, six listeners with us three nine and we three are doing it. Whereas before only one of us did it. So that's already a 200% increase. And then you add the six listeners who are committed listeners as well by the way enough to do this. So I just realized you cannot see my screen and that will make things >> I can't see anything. Can the listeners see the screens? We've we've got photos.
>> Yes, the listeners can. But you guys can't. So you will have to bring up the images while I talk about them. And uh I see it's misaligned >> for the Spotify listeners. >> No, they got video. >> We have video in Spotify. >> No, you do. Yeah, you do. They just need to not be driving and then they can see it on their phone basically. >> Yeah, if you're driving, you can stop maybe or see the need to >> um All right, let's move that there. Oh my god, there's an actual left button. Okay, we're back in the game, right, boys? I have the overview in front of me now for your viewing pleasure. Now, it makes me very happy. I will say that I finished my piece. No, that we all did um we all three did it and we had three other guys do it. So, that's 50% of the viewers or listeners who actually did a task master, which is amazing, we'll say.
Um, I'm not sure >> now the t-shirt can be I am the six listener and I did trust masters which is like an extra level. I mean, I I I I really need to come up with some sort of um other than being a good person incentive uh for like if you do a consecutive task masters, like when you get to five, you get a free t-shirt or I don't know, right? We we do need to like up our game a little bit on that on that side because imagine having a task masters >> and if we could get some >> we have some plans for things. So maybe who knows maybe >> for there's going to be some shit.
People will see there's going to be rewards of all kinds. >> Even if even if we are here a little bit anti uh new years, we do have new things for the new year for >> But it's not the new year, is it? It's just that we have new stuff and it happens to be >> it is consequentially a new year but it is >> I mean I assertion it doesn't even matter >> and I also enjoy seeing you a little bit annoyed. >> Thank you. You are too kind. Um so what we're going to do here is we're going to do a little game. Okay. The game is how did they do that? Okay. So what we and I think they're going to be similar because it seems like everybody did similar but it's a segment that I wanted to do which I was used to be on the hub show. So we have to look at the piece and then one of us has to say how we thought that was done. Okay.
So it will be random. I don't know how we can randomize it but um we are now where the fuck is the controls gone? There they are. Um okay so my one's first. Who would like to do how I did mine? Oh, I mean I would like to know your experience other than >> Oh, yes. Right. Okay. I can go through that as well, but then I might tell you how I did it. So, I would let you guys quickly quickly go over. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Okay. So, we do one first and then you can you can tell us what's up. That's good.
>> Okay. >> Uh Arnau, do you want to do Jamie's one? >> Uh yeah, let's see. Should be easy. Um, >> to be honest, >> I think I mean I don't know if you did first the the metallic or the white. >> Not a great photo to be fair. >> But I don't know. I mean, you put some paint on the brush and then painted it, right? >> Smart. Smart. >> The fact that there's a lack of um any kind of technique or anything on there is quite nice. But um I can give I'll go first. Right. You can see you can see how I would do it, right? So, the next one is >> Okay, >> so I'm doing this. We're looking at now LG's or Lionel as we like to call him.
Um, now I did see a whip of this which does give me a bit of an advantage, right? [snorts] But how the fuck did he do it to be honest? That's not bad. [laughter] Not that we're doing if it's good or not. Um, but I did particularly like this one. >> Yeah, it's really good. So I think the base is really cool. >> I think he probably did. Yeah, I think he did a black undercoat. Not that we need to go there. And then he did a zenithal lighting is my understanding, right? And then I think he probably just fucking I mean it looks fucking good.
The fact that he's got like the leaking shit on it like the c the the metal looks like it's so he must have done that over and then put a wash over that. So, I'm going to guess that he did black white for the >> really nice blood on the on the >> on the snap snaps. Yeah. Which So, black white and then I think he just washed it all. He's going to have to tell us if we're wrong. >> Some some washes on the on the metallic, right? And then >> and then then he >> Oh, we could do it together, actually. Shit. Yeah, but it's a challenge. [snorts] >> No, no.
And then and then I think that he probably um whacked on the rush shit and then dry brushed over the top of it. But it looks good. So I don't I don't know if he I think he probably went specific cuz there's highlighted areas. Man, it's good. It's a crisp thing. Yeah. And then the blood splattered on. Right. And the reds he didn't treat that much. Again, washes. I think he's It's good because mine is thick and I think that's a big difference between mine and this whereas you can see the the the the underneath shit that he's done. It makes it it gives it a much better um depth. So that will now bring us to mine. We'll go back to yours in a minute. There you go.
>> Are now >> are we looking at mine? >> No, we are now looking at mine cuz Arnell is going to quickly say what he thinks I did roughly. >> All right. I mean, you did some some metallic. I'm not sure if you did first brown. I mean the the oxide it's surprisingly cool. Maybe you did it with a with a down dirty down um because it looks very rusty. >> And then I think you you may have done some dry brush on top with with metal.
So you probably did three three layers, metal, rust, and metal again. And then the rest just yeah normal breast strokes just boring shit really. Yeah. >> So um we're nearly at yours mine by the way. So for mine the journey I can quickly go into cuz each of you will then go into yours. Right. Um like it was 2 hours I did this in. Okay. uh not building and not I had it black sprayed and then I just I fucking bashed on the red foundation and and like you say I did everything with with metal and then I was like it looks like fucking shit, right? I was like quite like marginally annoyed. I had like I had like probably like 40 minutes left and I was like holy shit.
Um, okay. Let me like and then I got that rust shit out that we bought in in every Metal or Element games and I put it all over it and I was like, "This looks even fucking worse. This looks like garbage." Right. And I was like, I'm >> Was that that type of corrosion or something? >> Yeah. It's like it's just literally down. >> Oh, down. Oh, yeah. Sorry. Sorry. It's it's the proper Okay. >> And I and I put it and I was like, "How the fuck is Why does everyone like this shit?" And then I like put water on my brush and I was taking it away from the bits where it's shiny. Right. And I was like, >> you did you let it dry? Because it has to dry.
>> No, it it dries quick. It dries quick. >> Yeah, but when it when it when it reacts and it dries, it turns up different than what it is when it's wet. >> Well, I waited like a minute or two. >> Then then not. >> Okay, fair enough. Try try it again in another place and then you'll see. >> And how long do you have to wait? >> Like 3 4 minutes. >> May maybe I did. I >> depends if you dry it with a >> an airbrush. With a haird dryer.
>> A hair. Yeah. >> Well, may or maybe not. And then I was like, "This model is awful, right?" And I was like, I couldn't do an army like this. But then I like just dry brushed a bit of silver on top, the same silver that I used on the bottom. And I was like, "Oh shit, this actually it actually basically came alive." Um, and then I just bung some shitty bleach um Snoke by leather on the things and was like done cuz I basically had no more time, right? Um, and yes, next to LG's and yours, it looks like shit. But the the main point, the whole point of this task masters for me wasn't to produce something that like I was proud of.
That's number seven now then. Um, >> it was something that I was terrified to. Yeah. Yeah. like this this fucking chamber of shit that I had created in my own brain. Um, and I'd be happy with a squad of six of them to be honest on the tabletop. Like, >> and did it free you in a way? >> I felt amazing. I felt very very happy. The photo is making me a little bit sad, but um I need to like remember that on why I I'm doing it, right? And like I'm looking and seeing things that I can improve, but I'm like no, the point isn't to improve. The point was to I mean I probably improved naturally with the next one. Yeah, sorry PC crash.
Yeah, Paul without Paul uh giving the digs into me to get me going. Um I don't even remember why the point there. But yeah, that is my task masters and I am very very glad we did it this month and I'm more excited to do the more. So the next one is Mike's sorry LG or Lionel. Um [snorts] yeah, he's he's a refined motherfucker. Like >> um if you look at the the models like uh he uh he did he also did it very quickly. Like we announced it and then like 4 days later, boom.
>> Yeah, he's smashed it out. That was a very quick paint job and it looks really good. >> Yeah, I would actually like him to do a tutorial. Um I really like the colors of the rock. fact that he did them green. >> Yeah. Looks pretty cool. >> It does >> with the water and stuff like Yeah. >> Yeah. And I like >> It's this one, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. I liked I really did enjoy the um composition of the whole piece. I think it's a conversion. I think those those weapons don't come like that. He cut up a few. >> Oh, yeah. That's pro. Yeah, that's uh a good shot. I didn't even really think about that. I didn't even think the hatch was a different thing. He did it in red. Genius. Um, yeah. And it's it's occurring to me.
What's the Ken? Um, that I don't know. Yeah, the the task masters is kind of like a mini journey. So, it's meant to be pushing yourself. So, I did speak to him and he said that he doesn't do vehicles almost ever. Um, and it pushed him it did push him out of his like massively out of his comfort zone. >> Very cool. And I was I was just like, "Yeah, it's exactly the same for me." But that's cuz I'm talking to him oneonone. So in in the next Taskmasters, guys, if you do it, uh give a little, you know, why it's difficult, why you did it, why you wanted to do it, and then we can relay that cuz then the pieces have a lot more meaning behind them, right? Like I'm >> Yeah, the taskmasters every we we do them to to do something that we would never do in a way that we would never do probably or you know we it's a way to go out from your usual paintings even if it's just in one way or or another.
So knowing that would be helpful and obviously we will tell ours uh as well. and he um he said something else I forgot. [laughter] Right. Oh, now you're up. >> Uh in my case, I wanted to try >> mine. Do you want to say quickly how you think it was done or do you think that's a shit segment? Uh, it's a little bit of a shit segment, but I'll say it was painted with a lot of metallics, probably the new VO metallic colors, and then most of the rust was done with uh dirty down. I think the moss was done with dirty down uh underneath and then loads of other things before even gluing on any tufts or anything. So, I think there's quite a lot of different uh products.
Uh yeah. >> How did you find it? Ara, >> it's literally that but it's actually not many products >> because I use the the the VJO true metallic range. They have the a couple of metallics that are really cool because they're like slightly greenish and or or not greenish but like um ochre greenish and it it looks like an old metal. And then I I covered everything with that.
And then on top I think I did a wash if I remember correctly of um something I don't know. Um, and then I applied the the rust to see how it went. Just to see how it went. I I was not expecting to to paint it because I was I was literally doing something else and I was like waiting or something and I said I don't know how this really works. So, let's just try in a little area of the thing. And I liked it so much that I ended up doing everything. And when I finished the rust, I added the green moss thingy, which is also dirty on. And then the greens, the tufts and thingies all over. And that's it.
Well, and painted the little goblin on top. But yeah, that's just traditional painting. >> And why? Um, >> but it was cool. Yeah, >> because I I always wanted I I really really really want to do more Warhammer stuff and my last year 2025 um [laughter] Oh, it's so beautiful. uh my 2025 uh uh kind of uh projection was to do more Warhammer instead of focusing that at as much as large scale because I really like Warhammer and even if I did it I didn't do it as much. So doing more Warhammer projects even if they are small scenes, little characters or whatever is something that I really want to do and this was the perfect choice because it's not I would never do a kilakan. I like orcs but I don't like them as much. So I would never choose by myself to do a kilakan.
And the fact that I I was imposed to do this made me think about the kilakan, the goblin situation. And the the the whole scene has a little bit of meaning. So it was really fun because it was something that I would not do this ever by myself. >> I'm glad we're on this journey, right? Thank you. Yeah, I like it. >> Very cool. I like it. >> And it's such an original idea that no one else would have thought of. So [laughter] >> um right, let us go. That's cool. I should have flicked through the things while we did it. Right. Hold on. You can Right. Yeah. Now, sorry I scroll past.
So Paul, I actually was surprised that he did one. I think Paul might have done one in the past when we did the task masters and the fact that I didn't do one as I said meant that he quit >> [snorts] >> um out of protest. That might not be true. Um that but uh yeah I I loved what he did cuz it's so out there. It's but it's also extremely awk um >> it is. >> Yes. >> Like it's it's I don't know where he said where he got the parts but it's like yeah >> to be fair kilans with with faces would be fucking amazing. >> Yeah.
>> Yeah. >> Gaz worship is losing money not doing this. >> Well they could easily do it as well. That's the funny thing. So I he he did share all the parts are but two things I loved about it was one the ingenuity or whatever to go with the orcs and the other part is that he um he I don't know what the word would be he just experimented with it >> like he did what he he wanted. >> That's number eight. Um cuz wanted is doesn't deserve them. It's literally what he wanted to do. There's no there's no reason to anyway. Um yeah I I enjoyed the piece a lot. I'd like to know if he actually enjoyed it or hated it. Um, doing it. That is I assume because he bought like five different bits from different kits for it. So, he must have had >> No, I think he he he already had them as far as I know >> because he he didn't want to buy things outside uh to just do the test and stuff, which is a really fun idea as well >> to to use things that you have laying around.
>> Yeah. Sometimes I I find one of when I see stuff like this, I think there's only one army that you can do this for. >> In this case, there's only one appropriate time and place to do this conversion and paint it this way, which is the task masters, >> which is why I love it the most. This is like not a wasted opportunity. This is exactly where this belongs. >> Which Martin brings us to your piece. Um, >> yeah. Are >> now how do you think he did it? Even though we spoke about it specifically.
>> Yeah. I mean, we we all spoke about our >> We won't do this again. This how did they do it thing. That's just This [laughter] doesn't work. It's rubbish. >> Um, so yeah, I know that he used some >> Yeah. >> How did he get the sand on the model? That was actually going to be my question. >> It's the sand. So, I think it's like >> little pools of sand. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> I'm super happy with with the whole piece. Um I feel like a proud father. Um which makes no sense, but I love that it's >> Oh, you you you launched this whole thing. I'm glad that you're glad.
>> Thank you. But but it's so far removed from your normal pieces. >> Yeah. >> Like, have you done one like this? >> Yeah. So the the idea obviously well no I sorry I should say nothing obvious. Uh I wanted to do almost exactly what Arnau did. So I wanted to do one that was completely covered in rust uh standing in some kind of uh greenery and then covered in moss. And I think the combination of moss and rust looks really really good uh like in nature in illustrations everywhere. And I I've always loved that kind of uh almost like iconic uh the robot from Lapa Castle in the Sky, the Studio Gibli movie. There's one robot that's just kind of stood on one of those floating islands and it's completely brown and covered in moss and it's really pretty. Uh and I wanted to do something like that. And then when I saw what Arnau was doing, I was like, fuck. Uh Arno's done this and it's better. So, I I pivoted and I decided to just do one that's stood in the desert instead cuz I still wanted to do the
rust thing. And I actually I'm really happy with how it it came out. It was it was fun to do as well. >> Well, one no gone. [laughter] >> I'll forget. >> Do you think um would you have enjoyed more your main idea instead of changing it? I maybe not, but I think um um it's always fun to end up with. Well, no, it's not always fun. It can be really fun to have these kind of kinds of twists and like challenges along the way actually cuz this was rather than just being like obstinate and going, "No, I'm going to do what I'm going to do or to just like scrap the whole thing." I thought, "Well, is there anything else I can do?" And so it was I I guess a kind of a fun exercise in, you know, low stakes creativity. Um, but the sand sprinkling was actually a good uh uh Yeah, I I like that idea. I thought that was kind of cool. Um,
so adds to the >> I think it ties everything together. >> Yeah, it works brilliantly. Yeah, thanks. It's been >> the only way that the way that it's done I I I bought some sand. And I can't remember from where, but some really it's ground up uh what you call it something like sandstone ground up or something like that. So it's very very very fine. >> And then all I did was just scoop it onto the model and then freeze it in place with uh there's like this AK sand gravel uh fixer. >> Oh, interesting. >> Mhm. >> Which is a bit like ballast freeze that all the train nerds use. Um and it's just and it's great. It leaves no residue of any kind. It just completely freezes the thing. And I use that sometimes with uh uh with sand, but also like dried leaves and stuff on bases.
It's great cuz you don't need to mess around with glue. And then the other thing I did, which I was really happy about, was I put uh the crackle paint. So that GW uh grein earth I guess or bad lance, whichever it is. Uh I used that before I even started painting it, which looks really cool as rust. That's what that was going to be my question when I was in tr like how the actual fuck did you get that color cuz they're colors I've not seen in any kind of pot or anything like a proper >> muted sad looking rust. Do you know what I mean? It doesn't it's not it doesn't look like the same rust that comes from that pot I used.
>> Yeah. But then that's it's not it's not entirely cuz there's two things that you guys did that I didn't really do. I didn't use dirty down as much. I only used it a little bit on a few places and I didn't actually use metallics on most of the model. It's just bronze >> shit [snorts] >> cuz I thought covering the whole thing with metallics to just then cover them up just it's not exactly what I was looking for. If you look at like completely rusted out old, you know, there's there's u trains and tanks and stuff in the desert and if you look at that they're not >> you can't really see any steel left. So I thought just do it brown.
would have fucking worked. Is that us? Oh, no. We've got the one guy left. Yeah. >> Um. >> Oh, yeah. Where is it? >> So, so are we on the last one now? >> Hold on. No, we're not. Hold on. Yes. Now, M. It is on screen. >> Yeah. So, this we could do some uh >> speculation on how it was done. >> So, this is Dean Dean Lock who is a an amazing painter. Um, I feel like he used some contrast paints. I think this was done very quickly, but it still looks dope as hell.
>> Yeah, I really like the metal. >> Yeah, the uh >> Yeah, the Yeah, I I feel a bit sad for him. They They live shit lives. Grotz, like to be honest with you, it doesn't seem fun. And he's even shouting. And And interestingly, that fucking briefcase is from the model, the power cell. >> Yeah. >> So, he's cut that. >> Oh, is that what it is? It's a power cell. Yeah. And he comes with one of the cars or the stomper or something. >> That's brilliant. >> No, it's the the the big guns. That's what it is.
>> Oh, so and it comes with the And he's holding the power cell, is he? >> Oh, he's converted that. >> Yeah, there's a few crew members on the on the >> I mean, it's awesome. I I think the paint job's good. Like, I like the the simple but effective. That's the kind of stuff where I'm I instantly go back to my previous way of being intimidated subconsciously where I'm like I wouldn't know how to do that rather than seeing as model seeing the idea and then thinking I'll experiment to try and get to there. I'm like fuck that's that might like it's interesting now that I can identify when it puts me into that mode and I can forcibly rip my own asshole out. Um, I think the I think the Yeah, I really like I like everything to be honest about it like the the the composition, the story and interestingly this leads directly into our next month's January taskmaster which we are already in the way too which also leads me to so I'll just quickly round up there. We're going
to start announcing the task masters a little bit earlier so that people have ideas to think about it so before the month comes. So maybe in a month in advance we'll announce the next one and obviously now we're we're doing this one and maybe next episode when we thought about the next one we'll do it then so you have lead time there >> because uh this in February I'm going to Las Vegas and I'm traveling and stuff. We maybe do a little bit and >> in no well one and a half instead of or two. Yeah, whatever.
>> Uh so instead of finishing in the 1st of February, we could either finish at the half of February or or in March for example. So okay. So the we deliberated offline or online cuz it's technically online. Um end of February this task masters will be done. Now are now if you would this is your task masters. >> Yes it's true. So even if it's Yeah. I mean we will do uh two characters in a base and they don't have to I mean it's more like a you know that the type of movie posters of two action heroes or something like that to two characters of the same squad to whatever to nerklings to elder to fire warriors. I would say that obviously try to keep it simple if you want because to not get into the
diarama territory but uh yeah having two characters doing a a pose interacting in in a way um that that's the whole thing just with a with a bit of a scenic base if it's possible and and the key is there are no limitations. they can go where they want these three people that might do it. But yeah, we that's our rules. Two two characters. Um, >> and it's literally >> be a jewel. >> It could be a jewel. I I I mean, maybe if you if you Yeah, if that's what's going to drive you. Um, I think Martin, you're one that you did in your own time. I literally think that's going to be our poster boy for this cuz we're going to try and advertise cuz we want to branch out. We want to get more listeners. Do you know what I mean? Like I said, we've we've upped it. We've got two new listeners. It's fantastic. I want four new listeners.
>> End of February. It's going to be like 12. It this it will be amazing. This will be a whole moment. >> We've already doubled. Yeah, we went to 200%, didn't we? We were in an increase. It's good to be alive to be honest. Oh shit. Thought of the day. Hold on. Let me get on my thing. Right. Um so, um thought of the day. 1 to six. I've been I' I've been thinking a lot. Martin, is that face for the concept of picking one to six or something else?
That's >> ah you I thought I I didn't understand that you were saying to us. >> Yeah, pick a number. >> Sorry. I was into I was looking through the uh to our Discord to see if there was Glockbusters info and I No, >> never mind. Sorry. >> Five. Five. >> Five. Okay. >> Uh five for sure. >> Delete that. This is a good one. So, in real life, okay, so not media, not not media, uh, like fiction stuff. Wouldn't the villains just win every time without fail? >> Like, >> they do. They literally do.
>> Yeah. I don't I don't this whole >> time though. >> Like, but let's pretend we had superheroes, okay? Right. So, so you know, obviously I'm Iron Man cuz do you know what I mean? The charisma, the money, all that shit, right? Oh, now you can be the Hulk because you're like passive passive on the outside, but really you're fucking fuming inside. Um, and Martin, I guess you're gonna probably be like Cyclops or something like that. Like kind of a leader guy, a bit of a jockey and ultimately powerful, but you you don't really let it out all that often. >> Okay.
>> Yeah, >> I'll take it. >> We're stomping through. Yeah. I mean, that is quite cool. We're We're running around bosching people and then fucking I don't know. Um, Dr. to Doom comes, he's just going to fucking annihilate a city with his technology. He Why would he do this super plot of bullshit trying like convoluted to get XY Z? Like he would just go in, wreck loads of fucking shit. Iron Man, you me would be running around trying to like save people's lives and then he'd disappear into another dimension with his technology. Like it would be it would be fucking carnage.
I mean, usually in real life, if when um terrorist attacks happen, they they it's not like they block them while they happen. They block them much earlier >> after. >> I see. Yes. Yes. >> If they are if they are at that point, they already do it. >> Yeah. >> So there's no going back. But a movie of blocking something before it happens may not be as >> Yeah, it's true. I mean, I'm watching >> I'm I'm episode six now into um Homeland. I've never seen it or anything, but because I'm painting now, I'm watching things again, right?
>> Oh, >> and every day I sit down on my desk and I just think how fucking happy I am with this setup that I've got. Like the the gratefulness that I feel in life, it doesn't seem to go away. Sometimes you forget and stuff, but then when you finally go back, I'm like, "Shit, man. This is amazing." Anyway, they're trying to stop stuff, but they don't know it's happening. Um. >> Mhm. >> Anyway, that was the thought of the day. So, um, what was the other thing that I wanted to say? Oh, I had a dream. Okay. And I'd forgotten about this dream, but I wrote it down as soon as I woke up.
Now, guess what the dream was roughly about, and it's about a rival that we have as a team. It's about get good. >> Had a dream about get good. >> Get good dream. Yeah. >> Did you dream about get good? For sure. For real. >> Yeah. 100%. I I I genuinely don't remember the dream, but when I read it, I'm hoping that it will come and hit me cuz I wrote it down. Right. So I I'm remembering now. I was on the Get Good Radio station, right? And they were live on air. Okay. Mhm. And then when all of a sudden I heard your voice are now through their speakers and I couldn't I couldn't believe it.
Right. So you were there but you weren't. And so but I wasn't on the radio station. I was just there and then I ran on and I interrupted the radio station >> and I was like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa guys. And they were laughing and I was laughing. It was like one of those fun unscripted moments on radio. Um and I was like did I just hear our now speak? Um, and everyone was laughing and I'm like and then I was running around the studio checking things and people were cracking up and and and I didn't find you but I was so sure it was your voice and that was it. That was the dream.
>> You are you are basically paranoid and if we if we betray you. >> Yeah. With him. >> It's only you and Albert, right? Who are betraying me. Albert still lives. Albert is still actively betraying me. We've been through this, right? Like what I said is on all of us we should we should ban gut github git good and we should like write shit about them everywhere like defamation like online like these guys they told me that you know you know my my dad's a piece of shit and blah blah blah and I wish I'd never been born and just make it all up but just like a public shame screen cuz they are our rivals and they need to eat shit >> but I I respect them.
>> Yeah. >> Do you know what I mean? art now's already been on their podcast. >> Well, that's where this dream probably came out. >> Almost every day. Yeah, the dream come. It's not even a fear anymore. It's just reality. >> They did did treat me very well. >> Yeah, they obviously keep your enemies closer. So, >> of course. Yeah, you go. Unbelievable. Um I mean, we've got so much Dr. Love Brush to go through and we've got I've got new task masters already written out. I've got but we don't have time. We're way way over the mark on on on what I said I would do with my wife.
>> Do do we have time? >> No. Go on. >> Yeah. Go on. No, no, you go. Do Do we have time for me to do the the the little quiz for next week? >> Oh, >> maybe not. >> Interesting. >> Maybe not. >> Well, no. I think we do. It's just the start of a quiz, right? Or would you rather do it next week in in season 4, >> the beginning of season 4? >> Obviously, we we will not we will not answer. We will just leave them out.
>> Yeah. It's like, >> answer through the questions. >> Uh, six. Okay. >> Mine if it had have been two is no. No. Fuck off, mate. If it was seven, get get out of there, you piece of shit. But six. Yeah. Do you know what? It's a good number. I'm just I'm I thought we were wrapping up. I thought you were going to say >> No, I am I am in a rush. Yeah. Like >> she even asked me >> then we we but cliffhanger >> but on the flip side now's actually done something and I'm like I want to I want to like reward that >> all the time. Ar's working hard >> with a little pat in my head. I'm happy.
>> I mean I'm amazed. I I'll be honest, Martin, I'm I'm really impressed with your Discord and that it sounds like marginally condescending. I'm not. Like, I see your message and I'm like, "Holy shit." Like, we're actually starting to become a team. Like, we're we're doing we're doing it. Do you know what I mean? It's not just >> You know, you know what? You know what that is, Jamie? That is a New Year's resolution. >> Fuck off. >> Get on it. [laughter] >> Well, it annoyed >> Discord. >> So, I I I I re I told you I stopped eating. Did I tell you? I think I did. Oh, yeah. I had this idea.
>> You mentioned >> you haven't eaten. Yeah. >> No, no, no. I'm not eating um anything processed for a month. Okay. That was the idea that I had in the shower when I was like, "Oh, fuck. It's the second and everyone's going to think it's a New Year's resolution." It's not. I was already not doing sugar and now I'm not going to do processed carbs. Well, processed anything ultrarocessed. Fuck's sake. That's number 11. Um what was the point here? Oh. Oh, yeah. I'm really looking forward to eating dinner. That was it. [laughter] >> Cool. Cool.
>> Yeah. >> You want to do a cliffhanger with your questions then or no? >> If we have time. If we don't, we we leave the cliffhanger. >> I I think we could we could push it. Oh shit. No. It's 35. It's I'm already 40 minutes late. >> Do you want to do Go on, do it. Oh no. Go on. Do it. What's it called? Go on. Let's do it. Where's the jingle? >> Wait, there's no jingle. It's It's It's a Growth Busters. Um, mini matters edition. >> Oh, you do need to do this now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, this is these are six questions about mini matters, about the history of mini matters just and obviously there's a lot of of points for people who know this because this this shows how deeply care for us. I really want to know if we get it ourselves, ma and I, because if we don't get it, we're struggling. >> I mean, yeah, you you should. >> So, the first question is, um, how much and what type of cheese did Jamie buy instead of groceries?
>> This is real Mini Matters law. I see this isn't this season. This is like proper law. >> It's It's all all seasons. This one as well. But so well there's an episode where Jamie does instead of magic beans he he comes with a with a cheese. >> I would like to get back on that in a way but yeah. >> Yeah we we can talk about this when we >> how much and the and the kind >> and the kind what we want >> and no one answer obviously in discord private message the answers to are now.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, how was the very Pinterest name of the guy who banged uh Jamie's ex-girlfriend? [laughter] >> You won't get that mine. You'll have to maybe I don't think I've sort of spoken about it. >> No, of course you have to you have to listen. Of course, I mean it's not like you cannot know that just by inspiration, but it's a very specific episode. you give them a hint on on the where it's roughly from the name cuz it's a it's it's based on the character is it too I mean the the the episode is about that anecdote almost >> fine >> it's quite an extensive part of that I mean yeah >> and the third one what creature is named in a robot voice or perhaps became a cyborg in a jingle Shit, I can't even think of that. Say it again. What's the clue?
>> What creature is named in a robot voice or perhaps became a cyborg? >> Okay, I got it. >> In a jingle. >> This I can hear it. I can literally hear it in my head. >> What the jingle is? >> We all should know this. Yeah. >> The fourth one. Where did Jamie stab himself with a scalpel? >> This is This is going back to season one and two stuff, Martin. Yeah. Oh, was that this season? >> Yeah, you said it in in this season. You also said it. Yeah.
>> Okay. >> Uh, another one. What's Jamie's character moto? >> I know everything. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. It's a Jamie show today. Yeah, [laughter] it's easy. And then the last one is coincidentally as well, Jamie's, but it was more like a fuckup. What music blasted while recording an episode on Jamie's computer? >> That is just law. Yeah, you in theory, you don't need to put Jamie there. You could just say we all made that mistake together.
>> No, but I wanted to leave clear that it was your only fault. Yeah. Yeah. So, so six questions about Jamie basically. It's a love a love audition. >> Yeah, I guess. I guess. I mean, at the end of the day, >> mine, >> you need to step up. That's what it is. You need you need to start having more shit that happened. >> I don't have a I don't I don't have a problem with it. I'm just clarifying for the listeners that these are six questions about Jamie that you all should know. Otherwise, why listen to this fucking podcast if you're not here for Jamie?
>> Yeah. >> One of them isn't mine. One of them is the jingle. >> Yeah. >> Oh, fair enough. Which you definitely made all of. >> Yeah, but that's that's just a consequence. If if you made the jingles, Martin, you'd be in there, maybe. >> And I really should. That is another New Year's resolution. >> Fucking hell. [laughter] >> If we had some some crazy stories like Yeah. >> Yeah. Anidotial conference being >> Yeah. I mean, in fairness that she's still with that guy. She cheated on on numerous times with me.
>> I know you be you you became that that title. >> Yeah. Well, and and other people while she was but yeah, I mean >> we don't have no one no one listens to this who knows me. So it's not like I'm cuz the husband doesn't know, right? So it's fine. >> We we will talk about it when we get the answers. >> Yeah, it the truth is out there. Um >> Yes. So, I've been really really happy. Thanks, Arnell for that, by the way. That was good. With the fucking that thing comments, the interactions that people are giving with us and Discord is coming alive as well. It's uh it's all coming together. It's been a good season. I'm so glad that we can wrap up this season with a year and then move on to the next one.
>> Yes. New year, new season. New year, new season, new um resolutions, new. >> Let us know your resolutions, fucking cunt. The >> aligning together. [laughter] >> That that honestly are now that that segment is brilliant and I would love that kind of ingenuity. It's it would make my heart sing if if if some of the other people on the cast did those sort of thing. I'm talking about both of you here. Don't think cuz you've done one. It's like But that is good. Yeah, >> I see. Yeah, I'm not safe. I just have to keep doing >> Yeah, it's hard to be creative though.
>> Yeah, >> when you're too busy doing real artwork. Um, see you all later. >> Yeah. See you >> on Discord probably. >> Yes, >> cuz we're all there now. See you on Discord, everyone. We're all there all the time. >> Happy New Year.
